AI Contestant Found Dead Near Abdul's Home

A woman found dead outside Paula Abdul's home has been identified as an American Idol contestant who failed to get past the initial stages of the show in 2006, reports TMZ.

Paula Goodspeed was discovered in a car near the singer's Sherman Oaks house yesterday. Her death is being treated as suicide.

A spokesperson for the Ventura Police Department said Goodspeed's parents asked them to check her home as she has a history of stalking and was obsessed with Abdul.

Georgina Baillie In I'm A Celeb...?

Andrew Sachs's granddaughter Georgina Baillie is rumoured to be in the lineup for this year's I'm A Celebrity.... Get Me Out of Here!

According to the Daily Express, the Satanic Sluts performer may enter the jungle at the end of the first week.

"We try to be as topical as possible and feature high-profile people who are in the news," said a show source.

"This year Georgina is on our hot-list. Andrew Sachs's name was mentioned too, but it's thought Georgina would be a great signing.

"She would probably go in as a surprise addition to the camp towards the end of the first week. She's the most searched-for celebrity online right now. She would be a big hit on the show."

Robert Kilroy-Silk, Esther Rantzen, Simon Webbe, Chris Eubank, Peter Duncan and Abby Clancy have also been linked to the reality show.

Beyonce To Appear On Strictly & X Factor

X Factor chiefs are said to be furious that Beyoncé has also agreed to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

Beyonce, who is promoting her new album I Am... Sasha Fierce, has already agreed to appear on the singing contest in December.

However, The Mirror reports that SCD have managed to get the singer to appear on the dancing show at the end of November.

"As far as we are concerned we are the No1 show on Saturday. If X Factor wants Beyoncé, they'll have to wait. She has signed and we've also got Take That confirmed for the coming weeks," a BBC source said.

Meanwhile, an insider at The X Factor said they also have Mariah Carey and Britney Spears lined up. "We aren't happy Beyoncé is doing Strictly, but she is just one of a number of huge names we're getting," the source said.

Simon Webbe Heading To The Jungle?

Singer Simon Webbe is the latest celeb to be linked to this year's I'm A Celebrity....Get Me Out of Here!

Webbe who shot to fame with boyband Blue is currently negotiating a fee with the reality show's bosses, reports The Sun.

"He is massively excited about the show as he's been out of the spotlight for a while," said an insider.

"Producers want him because he's a good talker and not afraid to say what's on his mind. He's also a former model so he'll be a bit of eye candy for the ladies."

Other celebs who have been rumoured to be part of the show include TV presenter Esther Rantzen, Donny Osmond and model Abby Clancy.

Metcalfe Denies 'I'm A Celeb' Reports

Actor Jesse Metcalfe has squashed rumours he is set to take part in reality series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Reports suggested that Metcalfe would appear as a contestant in the TV programme when it starts next month. But Metcalfe has denied the reports, saying, "I'm against reality shows. I find them very exploitative. I don't think they're that cool."

However, the Desperate Housewives star hasn't ruled out appearing on a reality show "in the later stages of my career, if ever I needed some money."

Apprentice Helpers To Go Dancing?

Apprentice aides Nick Hewer and Margaret Mountford have been approached to star in Strictly Come Dancing, according to a report.

The pair, who advise Sir Alan Sugar on the hit BBC show, have reportedly been offered £25,000 each to appear in the dance contest's next series.

A source told the Mail on Sunday, "Nick and Margaret are the unacknowledged stars of The Apprentice and more and more people have been watching it because of them.

"They have really interesting, understated personalities and some of their reactions to what the candidates do in Sir Alan's tasks are wickedly funny."

A BBC spokesperson simply said, "Nothing is confirmed yet."

Hewer, 64, is said to be on the verge of signing for the show and is hoping to persuade Mountford, a 55-year-old lawyer, to appear with him.

Apprentice Star Alex' Male Model Past

Apprentice star Alex Wotherspoon tried to become a male model but never quite made the grade.

The super-sexy businessman was signed to modeling agency Model Bank but the only job he ever got was a catwalk show at a shopping mall in Birmingham.

Alex, who studied Managerial Administrative Studies at Ashton University, even had a portfolio of pictures to show off, but his modeling career still stalled.

A pal of Alex’s from university said, “It was well-known at university that Alex had done a bit of modeling and I seem to remember him having one of the shots as his screensaver – he was really proud of it. He used to take jujitsu classes and he was pretty fit and popular.”

According to heat the agency has since scrapped Alex’s pictures.

Denise Van Outen, who is dating Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat star, Lee Mead, has selected John Barrowman as her pin-up.

She tells Heat magazine: "I think he looks like Tom Cruise. I love him - whenever I do a TV show he knocks on my dressing room door with his willy hanging out."

But she is less keen on Trinny and Susannah, "I find some of their tactics very bullying and I don't like that."

Hot Model Joins Neighbours

Neighbours producers have announced that Imogen Bailey has joined the cast of the Aussie soap.

The gorgeous model, has signed up to play Miranda Parker's younger sister Nicola West. She has already started filming.

Bailey told Adelaide Now, "Acting is a passion of mine. It has been a slow burn. I have done bits and pieces over the years. When my agent called and said I had the role, I thought he was joking.''

"I had a sexy image and I am proud of my modelling and what I was able to do with my image. But I am getting to a point in my life where I am trying to shed that [image] a little bit.''

Bailey has also appeared on Celebrity Survivor and Celebrity Big Brother in Australia.

New Maria Planted In Hollyoaks

Andrew Lloyd Webber has unveiled his new Maria - an actress he planted on the soap Hollyoaks.

Summer Strallen, 23, has been playing Summer Shaw in the Channel 4 soap since October.

Fans of the soap have seen her pursue her dreams of West End stardom, even stalking Lord Lloyd Webber. In today's episode, she finally impressed Webber.

In reality Strallen, the niece of Bonnie Langford, secured the role in The Sound Of Music six months ago. Strallen previously appeared in Cats.

Over the next month, viewers will watch Strallen rehearse in the run-up to opening night on February 26, when she exits Hollyoaks and makes her debut in London's West End.

She will succeed Connie Fisher, who won the role in the BBC1 talent contest How Do We Solve A Problem Like Maria?

Lloyd Webber said he was approached with the idea before the BBC talent contest was broadcast. Hollyoaks producer Tony Wood suggested blurring reality and fiction when he was working at Coronation Street.

Lloyd Webber said, "I thought, 'Do you know what, it's never been done before and it's funny.'"

Eastenders Is 2007 Most Watched

The EastEnders Christmas episode - when Max & Stacey's affair was exposed -was the most watched TV programme of 2007 with 14.38 million viewers.

BBC One had six programmes in the top 10, while ITV1 had four according to audience research body Barb.

The Doctor Who Christmas special was second, with 13.31 million viewers. ITV1's most watched show was the Rugby World Cup final, with 13.13 million.

Also featured in the top 10 was an episode of Coronation Street, The Vicar of Dibley, The X Factor, Concert for Diana, Strictly Come Dancing, Britain's Got Talent and Match of the Day.

In other ratings news, Vera Duckworth's exit from Coronation Street last night was watched by an estimated 12.5 million people.

Spying On Cowell's Talent Show

A man has been arrested after a spying device was found on the set of ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent.

A listening bug was discovered in a backstage area used by the talent show’s judges Simon Cowell, 48, Piers Morgan, 42, and Amanda Holden, 36.

A man was allegedly caught using a listening device in his car outside auditions in Manchester. Filming was delayed for more than an hour as the police investigated.

It is believed the man was trying to listen in on the judges discussing auditionees. Simon told The Sun, “I am shocked at the extent to which people will go to get secrets.”

Meanwhile, Holden told GMTV that it is unlikely that the man heard anything interesting.

This year's line-up includes Emmerdale actress Linda Lusardi (who plays Carrie), TV presenter Tim Vincent, tennis ace Greg Rusedski, How Clean Is Your House star Aggie MacKenzie, former chart toppers Samantha Mumba and Gareth Gates. Also there is Suzanne Shaw (Hear'say) and Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain (Justin) who is favourite to win. The show starts this weekend on ITV1.
