After opening the show with a top performace, the star won Best Female Artist and Best Download.
Band '30 Seconds To Mars' - fronted by actor Jared Leto - won Best Rock Video and Video of the Year for their song 'The Kill.'
Fergie won Sexiest Video, while Justin Timberlake and Timbaland won Best Hook-up [collaboration].
Australian Idol stars Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll also walked away with Best Pop Video & Best Male Artist, respectively.
Evanescence, Red Hot Chili Peppers & Good Charlotte, were among the other winners.
Joel Madden was co-host for the event which included an appearance from Nicole Richie.The show included performances from Fergie, Teddy Geiger and 30 Seconds To Mars.
Even though he was denied entry to Australia, rapper Snoop Dogg was still part of the ceremony via a recorded message.
