P Diddy [real name Sean Combs] is due to face a High Court trial over his use of the name "Diddy" in the United Kingdom, reports DigitalSpy.
Combs, has previously agreed not to use the nickname in the country because of a conflict with DJ Richard "Diddy" Dearlove.
However, Dearlove complained the agreement has been broken with Diddy promoting himself under the title on websites MySpace and YouTube.
Lord Justice David Kitchen ruled there was a breach but said he could not decide if Diddy himself had control over the sites. A full High Court hearing must decide in October, he ruled.
Diddy has also agreed to remove the lyric "mainline this Diddy heroin" from future performances of his track 'The Future' in the UK.
P Diddy's spokesman said the judge's refraining from issuing an injunction was "a victory for common sense".
