Amy Winehouse spent last night in a police cell after being arrested on suspicion of assault, reports DigitalSpy.
The singer attended a Central London police station voluntarily yesterday to be questioned over an alleged incident which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning. However, officers decided that she was in no fit state to be interviewed and she was held overnight.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said, "A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault after attending a central London police station by appointment. She is currently in custody."
Winehouse is accused of headbutting a man who tried to help her to get a taxi outside a bar in Camden. It is also claimed that she punched a second man in the face.
