Murphy Ends Marriage After Two Weeks

Actor Eddie Murphy and his new wife Tracey Edmonds have split up just two weeks after their ceremonial wedding.

The couple got married on a private island off Bora Bora on New Year's Day. But they needed a ceremony on U.S. soil to make the marriage legal.

However, Murphy, 46, and Edmonds, 40, have called off the official ceremony, deciding to remain "friends" instead.

A statement to People magazine read, "After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further."

But sources claim the relationship quickly turned sour following the nuptials.

A wedding guest reveals:,"Eddie started yelling at Tracey in front of people. He did it on a few occasions and it was very embarrassing."

The suitation came to a head during a firey row two days ago, with an insider telling Life & Style, "it was ugly", adding Eddie seemed "very controlling."
