Wentz Reveals Why He Denied Pregnancy Rumours

Pete Wentz has defended his decision to keep news of wife Ashlee Simpson's pregnancy under wraps.

The Fall Out Boy singer confirmed reports that the couple are expecting their first child on Wednesday after previously describing them as "crazy".

He said he had initially denied the rumours out of concern for the health of mother and baby, telling MTV, "Every woman, no matter who they are or what they do for a living, has the right to wait at least three months before sharing this very personal news."

"We wanted to wait until after the first trimester before confirming anything, just like any other couple..."

He added, "It's insane that you can't let happy news brew in Hollywood."

"I apologise to anyone who felt misinformed but the truth is, the person and growing baby is who I felt most loyal to protect and defend."

George Clooney is said to be "relieved" that he is no longer with girlfriend Sarah Larson. Apparently the actor had split from the former cocktail waitress, whom he dated for a year.

A pal told In Touch, "George is relieved to be single again. He thinks Sarah is sweet and that is why it was so hard to break up with her."

"The truth is they had little in common and he just doesn't want to be tied down."

Another pal told People that Larson had recently moved out of the star's LA home.

Clooney's agent has refused to confirm whether the couple have split or are still together.

Ashlee Simpson has confirmed she is expecting her first child with Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz.

"We wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child," the couple announced on Wentz's blog.

Rumours started about Ashlee's pregnancy since the couple became engaged in April.

The pair married at a ceremony at Simpson's family home in California earlier this month.

Dunst: Went To Rehab For Depression

Kirsten Dunst has insisted that she entered rehab because she was depressed.

The actress checked into a clinic in Utah in February after causing concern with her 'erratic' behaviour at the Sundance Film Festival. She denied reports that addiction to drink or drugs was behind her decision to seek help.

She told E! News, "I didn't go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse. I went there for depression. It was a good six months before I decided to go away."

"I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it."

She added that she had been upset by speculation about her behaviour in the media, saying, "Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about. There's been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life... [That's] very painful for my friends and family."

"Everyone feels like they have to defend me. They hear the rumours, and it puts them in a defensive position. Now that I'm feeling stronger, I'm prepared to say something."

Trisha Goddard Slashes Her Hair

Losing your hair due to cancer treatment can be one of its most emotionally devastating side-effects. But chat show host Trisha Goddard has bravely cut off her trademark glossy bob in exchange for a blonde crop because she doesn't want to 'look like a victim'.

The mother of two was diagnosed with breast cancer in March following a routine mammogram.

She told Hello! magazine: "When I learned that I was going to need chemotherapy following my surgery for breast cancer, I had to consider the prospect of losing my hair – something which really scared me."

"As a woman, my hair really helps me feel feminine. I am going to wear a cold cap during my treatment – something which stretches over your head and freezes the hair follicles, hopefully protecting them."

"But that works better with short hair, so I knew that my usual hair extensions would have to be taken out and a shorter style would help. Also, if my hair does end up falling out, I don’t want to look like a victim."

"So I decided to have a short crop for both practical and emotional reasons. Then, as I was talking to my husband Peter [Gianfrancesco] about it, he said ‘Why don’t you go the whole hog and have it bleached.’ As soon as he suggested it, I thought ‘Yes!’ It is like wearing my hair with pride and actually taking control."

"The thought of losing my hair through the chemotherapy is so scary – but this is my own way of sticking two fingers up at the situation I find myself in."

The TV presenter said the process of cutting her hair was traumatic.

She said: 'It was actually quite shocking and emotionally draining. This wasn’t like having a fun new style – it was pushed upon me by events which are out of my control.

I deliberately didn’t have a mirror in the room, so I didn’t have to sit and watch it all come off. I had to have several glasses of champagne to help me through it .'

She added: 'I only looked when my hair stylist had finished bleaching it blonde – and I was shocked. It was like staring at someone else’s face, one that I didn’t recognise.

'If I do look in the mirror, it is like an intruder staring back – a stranger that I don’t recognise.

Bissix To Leave Eastenders

Gemma Bissix is to leave EastEnders later this year, it has been confirmed.

The actress, who plays Clare Bates, will leave the BBC1 soap when her character's selfish intentions are exposed.

A source told The Mirror, "Clare has been working her way round the men of Walford for the past few months but what she had thought was a masterplan to bag the man of her dreams soon gets out of hand."

"She is forced to flee as it is clear she is not welcome in Albert Square anymore."

Hollyoaks Star Hints At Exit

Hollyoaks babe Roxanne McKee has hinted that she may leave the soap when her current contract ends.

The actress, who plays Louise Summers, said that she would reconsider her future with the show in October.

"I'm not going to be there forever," McKee told Look magazine. "I don't mind the long hours but I'll have been doing that for four years in October when my contract ends."

When asked whether she would consider moving to Hollywood, she commented, "I don't see why not. I think you should aim for the stars - and hopefully avoid ending up in the clouds!"

Eight years after Irish boy band Boyzone stormed the charts Ronan, Keith, Mikey, Stephen and Shane show they’re back with a bang.

Time apart and a fall-out between Ronan and manager Louis Walsh followed the band’s split, now the five piece are on the eve of embarking on a sell-out tour which sees them perform all their hits as well as a special Michael Jackson medley.

In an exclusive interview with heat magazine Mikey explains the reason why the band reformed, he said: “I do think Take That getting back together was a catalyst for us to do the same. A couple of us went to see their first comeback show, and I remember calling Shane straightaway. I thought, “We’ve gotta try and so something now.” If ever the timing was right to start something, it was then and Shane agreed. Then I was on to Ronan – he’s seen it as well – and the other boys were interested too. Slowly over a two-year period, it came together.”

Ronan added: “We had a meeting in February 2007 – the five of us and Louis Walsh. We said, “Is this the real thing? We want to do this – are there offers on the table?” Two weeks later, we met with Universal, and, from then on, it just snowballed.”

He laughed: “I’ve spoken to Gary (Barlow). I called him up to say I was looking for a supporting act for the tour, and would they be up for that? We giggle about things like that. “

One member of the band had some happy news to announce. Committed Christian Shane Lynch (who admits he and his wife Sheena White waited until they were married before sleeping together) revealed exclusively to heat: “My wife is three months pregnant!”

Did Joey Ruin Matteo's Career?

Drea De Matteo has reportedly claimed that her role in US sitcom Joey destroyed her career.

The former Sopranos actress has struggled to find work since playing Matt Le Blanc's sister in the Friends spinoff, which was cancelled in 2006 after two series. Matteo played the role of Gina on the show.

A source told Page Six, "[Drea] was saying Joey completely ruined her career. She called it horrible and said she hasn't been able to really work since then."

"She said she's really been out of the business and is trying to get back in."

The 36-year-old won an Emmy for her role as Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos in 2004.

Tina Hobley Introduces Baby Olivia

Holby City star Tina Hobley star gave birth to her daughter Olivia Kitty Alice Wheeler by elective Caesarean at London’s private Portland Hospital on Friday 18th April. She was born ten days early and weighed a dainty 7lb 30z. Tina was accompanied at the hospital by her husband Oli Wheeler, 38, a PR executive.

Olivia is Tina’s second child, she has another daughter, Isabella, 9, from her first marriage to Steve Wallington.

Speaking exclusively to Hello! magazine, Tina, 37 said: “It was as perfect as it could have been. We had John Lennon’s Working Class Hero playing in the background and everyone was relaxed. She appeared within five minutes and they pulled the screen down so I could see the whole thing.”

“Oli surprised me because he filmed everything. I didn’t think he would be brave enough and expected him to be sitting next to me holding my hand, but he was in the thick of it, which was great because now we have fantastic footage of a very special moment.”

Holby City actress Tina will return to work just six weeks after giving birth. She explained: “It’s just the way it happened. I went off in January due to storylines, so I suppose I had my maternity leave before she was born. It will be tough going back, because the hours are 7am to 7pm, five days a week. But I am looking forward to it too.”

“I want to go back and show that I can do it all: that I can be a mother of two, do these hours and handle more dramatic storylines.”

Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon is to leave Blue Peter after three-and-a-half years, reports BBC.

The 28-year-old will quit at the end of the current series in June when co-presenter Gethin Jones also says goodbye to the long-running programme.

"I've loved my time on Blue Peter and I've had experiences that I never dreamed I could have," she said.

Salmon is a law graduate and a former Miss Northern Ireland - she has signed up to present a new gameshow on CBBC.

Alba Marries In Quiet Ceremony

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have gotten married, People confirms.

The couple quietly wed on Monday, says her rep.

According to a source, they were married in the Beverly Hills courthouse's ceremony room under an arch of green silk foliage and white flowers. They were casually dressed, with Alba wearing a long blue dress and her hair back in a ponytail.

"She looked happy but nervous," the source says.

Nobody else attended the wedding, the source adds.

Alba, 27, is expecting a daughter with Warren, 31, this summer. The couple met while filming Fantastic Four in 2004.

Footballer Barton Starts Jail Sentence

Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton was today starting a six-month prison sentence following an attack which was captured on CCTV. He has been jailed for assault and affray

The 25-year-old punched one man up to 20 times and left a 16-year-old boy with broken teeth, Liverpool Crown Court was told.

Barton, cousin Nadine Wilson, 27, and brother Andrew Barton, 20, were captured on CCTV in a number of violent incidents in Liverpool city centre on December 27 last year, reports ESPN.

At around 5am the footballer, who had consumed 10 pints of lager and five bottles of lager, went into a McDonald's restaurant with his brother and Wilson. The court heard Wilson became involved in a confrontation with a group of youths and the row continued outside the restaurant, with Barton caught on CCTV knocking an unidentified man to the ground.

He then straddled the man, and punched him four or five times as Wilson threw food at the victim before Barton punched him up to 15 times more.

Minutes later, the player attacked 16-year-old Jordan Spencer, punching him in the mistaken belief the youth had slapped Wilson. The punch broke a number of Mr Spencer's teeth.

Ian Harris, prosecuting, described the incident as 'violent and cowardly'.

Kelly Osbourne Bags Herself A New Man

Speaking to Closer magazine, Kelly Osbourne revealed, ”I’ve got a new boyfriend.”

The star is dating male model, Luke Worrell, 18. He’s got a lip piercing and has been on the cover of trendy mag Dazed & Confused.

A source close to the pair added, “Luke was chasing Kelly for a date. She was flattered. He’s a real gent and she’s very into him.”

Eastenders Actor's Financial Worries

EastEnders star John Bardon is struggling to make ends meet after being out of work for eleven months.

The actor, known for his role as Jim Branning on the BBC One soap, is still recuperating at home and attending frequent physiotherapy sessions after suffering a stroke in June last year.
"People think the BBC pay you when you're not working due to ill health, but that's not so," John's wife Enda told The People. "Actors only get paid for the work they do. There is no animosity between us and the BBC because they don't owe John anything. But there is not much money coming in."

She added, "Thankfully, medical insurance has paid for his physiotherapy twice a week. We are not destitute but if you haven't got money coming in, one day there could be nothing."

Bardon is hoping to return to the soap next month to appear in a one-off episode alongside June Brown, who plays his on-screen wife Dot. He may then make monthly appearances to prepare him for a permanent comeback.

"John's speech comes out as gobbledygook," Enda said. "But he can swear! June Brown stays here. She has been wonderful. I hope being with his colleagues will get more out of him."

Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, exchanged vows in front of 150 guests at her parents' Los Angeles area home.

Muniz To Become Race Car Driver

Actor Frankie Muniz is leaving Hollywood to become a race car driver.

The 22-year-old announced in 2006 that he was taking a break from acting to pursue his passion for cars, saying he would return to work after two years.

But the ex-Malcolm in the Middle star has now put his West Hollywood home on the market for and plans to move to Arizona permanently.

A source told OK!, "He's moving to Scottsdale. He's decided to focus his energy on racing and feels that he doesn't need a home in Hollywood anymore."

Talking about leaving showbiz, Muniz said, "I really wouldn't mind if I never acted again. Racing is definitely my passion, this is my career now and what I definitely want to do for the rest of my life."

Remy Sentenced To Eight Years Prison

Remy is the latest female rapper to pay a visit to the clink. 'Conceited' rapper Remy Ma has been sentenced to eight years in prison following the shooting of a woman outside a Manhattan nightclub.

The jury heard Ms Smith had shot her friend outside the Manhattan venue in July 2007 because she thought the woman had stolen $3,000 (£1,495) from her. With friends like that who needs enemies?!

Remy insists last summer's shooting was an accident; an appeal is planned.

Correction officials say they called off her weekend wedding at the Rikers Island jail after the groom — fellow rapper Papoose — showed up with a handcuff key. Remy's lawyer, Ivan Fisher, denies the key could be used to unlock handcuffs. Papoose isn't charged. Fisher says the two still plan to wed, reports AP.

Davina To Stay With Big Brother

Davina McCall has rubbished rumours she’s planning to quit as Big Brother host.

The TV star told heat magazine the story is “utter bollocks”.

It was reported that the BB star is planning to quit the programme after the current run, with insiders claiming that, as the nation gears up for the ninth year of the show, Davina would be hanging up her host’s mic in order to launch an acting career.

Keen to squash the speculation, Davina said, “This is a silly rumour. There is no truth in it."

The talk started when Davina left her agent, John Noel, last month. Noel, also oversees the careers of fellow ex-BB presenters Russell Brand and Dermot O’Leary, and has proved a close tie to the show.

A BB insider commented: “BB has always been Davina’s baby and she’s never had any plans to leave. She loves the show and knows it’s great for her career – she’d really miss it if she left."

The BBC is to broadcast an apology after admitting a subsidiary company kept £106,000 from premium-rate phone- ins that should have gone to charity. A further £6,000 will be donated after viewers were accidentally told to ring in to vote in last year's UK Eurovision final when lines were closed.

Meanwhile ITV was fined a record £5.675m by Ofcom for abusing phone-in services in viewer competitions.

Nick Bollea Sentenced: 8 Months Jail

He is the only sentenced juvenile in the juvenile population of the Pinellas County Jail. Since he's the only juvenile in the place, Nick will be housed at the Inmate Healthcare Facility of the Pinellas County Jail in a single cell.

Matt Littler Quits Hollyoaks

Hollyoaks actor Matt Littler has quit the Channel 4 soap after joinining in 1997 as Max Cunningham.

The 26-year-old will bow out in July in a dramatic exit surrounding his wedding to Steph Dean.

Darren Jon Jefferies has returned to filming as Max's best friend O.B. for his final scenes.

Speaking of his exit, Matt Littler said, "I feel that I have grown up on Hollyoaks over the past eleven years and I’m not only leaving behind friends but also family. I wouldn't change a second of my time at Hollyoaks and working with Darren Jon Jefferies has been amazing – every second of it! I'd just like to thank everyone who has made my life at Hollyoaks a very happy one."

Producer Bryan Kirkwood added, "...Matt is a talented directed as well as a successful actor and although Max's exit marks the end of an era on screen, Matt's not going too far as he will be directing a few episodes of Hollyoaks in the not too distant future."
