Britney Spears Taken To Hospital

Britney Spears was been taken to UCLA Medical Centre (Los Angeles hospital) by ambulance to be put under psychiatric care for the second time this month.

A police officer told Associated Press that the pop star was being taken to hospital to "get help."

Britney is on a three-day psychiatric hold, but sources say there is a "good possibility" that it will be extended to 14 days.

A source told Mail Online that Britney's trip to UCLA was the result of a planned "snatch and grab" intervention led by her mother Lynne.

"She had no idea it was coming," said the source, adding, "Lynne planned it down to the last detail."

When Britney heard she was being taken into care, she said, "Is something wrong?" and insiders say she was too "out of it" to resist.

TMZ reports the emergency treatment had been arranged by Britney's psychiatrist.

The singer has reportedly not slept for days, and her psychiatrist felt her mental stability had deteriorated rapidly.

The LA Times reports that more than a dozen motorbike police and an ambulance swept through the front gates of Spears's hilltop Studio City home shortly before 1am LA time. A police helicopter hovered overhead.

Spears was rushed from a side entrance of her home into an ambulance.

Rhydian, 'Kiss and make-up'

X-Factor runner up Rhydian Roberts has become a winner in love..... after falling for pop guru Simon Cowell's make-up artist, Julia Carta - who is 12 years old than him.

Rhydian, who celebrates his 25th birthday on Valentine's Day said: "We met during The X Factor. She’s Simon Cowell’s make-up artist, in fact, and I fancied her when we were making the show last year.

"She’s half-Spanish and very beautiful, with dark hair and olive skin. I was also attracted to her because of her lovely personality. She was very supportive and gave me little tips and words of encouragement.

"We’re gradually getting to know one another properly and I’m very happy. She’s 12 years older than me, but that’s fine with us both.”

Rhydian told Hello! magazine he wants to be a virgin when he finds the right girl.

He said: "I don’t want to keep barking on about being a virgin and a Christian at the age of 24. I will make love with the person I fall in love with, until then I don’t have to go the whole way with a girl to enjoy pleasure with her.

"As long as there’s love and respect at the core, that’s what matters. The implications of sleeping around when you’re in the public eye could be dangerous – the next thing you might see is someone selling stories about you being rubbish in bed. It’s just not worth it.

“My faith is personal to me, and basically my belief is that we should respect one another. I’m faithful and monogamous and have eyes for nobody but Julia right now.”

He added: "I’m only 24, so I don’t think so. But eventually I’d like to have a family, a wife and two children. Living in my apartment in London is convenient at the moment, but I was brought up in rural Wales, so I’d like to have a place in the country one day.

“Yes, I’m old-fashioned and I prefer girls who like that, too. If I open a door, I’m not being sexist, I’m being courteous. During a relationship I will bring a woman flowers. Ladies need to be treated with respect.”

Rhydian, from the Brecon Beacons in Wales also revealed that he had been in talks with Andrew Llloyd Webber about playing the Phantom in a sequel Phantom of the Opera.

He said: "He told me I was perfect for the role, which was fantastic to hear. There have been talks, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Andrew’s halfway through writing the new show so it won’t be ready until next year anyway.

“I know I could play the Phantom, though. From the moment Mum took me to see the show on my 18th birthday, it’s been my dream. I think I’m made to be the Phantom. He has a scar on his face, and I have a birthmark that looks like a scar on my right cheek."

She tells Closer magazine, "I'm not speaking out of turn by saying Greg is a terrible dancer! We went to a christening recently, and the singer Darius Danesh was there. Andrewartha In Neighbours Return

Janet Andrewartha has confirmed that she will be returning to Neighbours for a month.

The actress, who played Lyn Scully for seven years in the Aussie soap, has told The Perfect Blend that she has begun a month's worth of filming, which will see her shoot scenes with Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson), Carla Bonner (Stephanie Hoyland) and Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy).

Andrewartha left the show following her short-lived onscreen marriage to Paul Robinson in 2006.

Lyn left Erinsborough on her honeymoon and eventually settled down with her mother Valda Sheergold in Shelley Bay rather than returning to Ramsay Street.

Popular Presenter Jeremy Beadle Dies

TV presenter Jeremy Beadle has died at the age of 59.

Beadle - best known for his prank series Beadle's About and You've Been Framed- was admitted to hospital last week suffering from pneumonia. Friends and family were at his bedside.

In a statement, Beadle's agent said, "Our heartfelt condolences go to his wife Sue, his two daughters, Cassie and Bonnie, and his stepchildren Leo and Claire. He will be greatly missed."

Beadle was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney in 2004 and a mild form of leukaemia in 2005, but received successful treatment for both. He has raised many money for charity, and was awarded an MBE in 2001.

Gwen Stefani's father-in-law has revealed that Gwen is pregnant with her husband Gavin Rossdale's second child.
The couple, whose son Kingston turns two in May, are said to be thrilled about the new addition to the family.

Douglas Rossdale told People, "They and the whole family are delighted. We are very much looking forward to another grandchild."

According to The Sun, the 'Sweet Escape' singer is about 13 weeks pregnant.

Stefani, 38, and British-born Rossdale, 40, wed in London in September 2002.

The new format did not prove to be as successful as bosses hoped.

Channel 4 bosses decided to change its format after last year's race row involving Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty. This year, the housemates were 12 young people chosen for their intelligence and talent while the celebrities took it in turns to take over the role of Big Brother.

Kaplinsky In Five Image Change

Natasha Kaplinsky is known for her glossy image and sparkly outfits but apparently the BBC presenter will have to tone down her look when she moves to Five News, reports Daily Mail.

Kaplinsky been told she must regularly appear in jeans and a T-shirt (as in picture) when she takes over the early-evening bulletins on Five next month.

Friends say the 35-year-old presenter is "very nervous" about changing her image and a source said that "she's not happy about it at all."

The source added, "She spent a lot of time and effort building up her image, and it's paid off with a £1million salary. If it goes wrong, she'll be very upset."

However, Five News boss Chris Shaw claimed that Kaplinsky was "excited" at the opportunity to change her "stiff and conventional" image.

Kaplinsky will become the face of Five News on February 18, after she was poached from the BBC in a £3million, three-year deal. She rose to fame after winning Strictly Come Dancing.

Forget the contestants; all eyes (well both of mine anyway) were on Dancing On Ice co-presenter Holly Willoughby. The 26-year-old looked like she was about to pop out of her dress at any moment - and I do think it was a bit much for a family show. Nonetheless, shenlooked gorgeous.

And singer Samantha Mumba was eliminated from the skating competition after the judges chose to save javelin ace Steve Backley following the sakte-off.

Cheryl Vows To Stand By Hubby Ashley

Cheryl Cole has vowed to stand by her husband Ashley Cole following reports of his infidelity with a hairdresser - despite the Chelsea footballer admitting he was too drunk to remember the alleged night.

Single mother Aimee Walton, 22, claims she had sex with Cole after meeting him at a club on December 8.

Meanwhile in the Sunday Mirror, a second girl, glamour model Brooke Healy claims she also slept with Ashley following Chelsea's Christmas party in December 2006.

Brooke said, "Ashley told me not to tell anyone about what had happened."

"The majority of London's West End scene knows about Ashley and they know what he gets up to and that he's not faithful to Cheryl. I feel bad for her because she married somebody who isn't faithful."

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl and the left back player spent eight hours on Saturday locked in talks at their lawyer's office in west London as Ashley missed his team's game against Wigan Athletic.

In an interview with the News of the World, a "hurt and angry" Cheryl revealed that Ashley confessed about his behaviour hours after it happened.

The 24-year-old Geordie recalled, "When Ashley returned in a state he told me these girls had been invited into the VIP area..."

"He told me, 'Something happened last night but I was so drunk I don't know what.'

"All he could remember is his friends leaving him upstairs with this girl and him being so ill that he was sick and she was putting a bucket under his head, looking after him."

"I was furious, furious that he didn't know what had gone on."

"...Ashley had told me about a drunken night and I'd kept it a secret for nearly two months."

She continued, "I'd only told my mum. I adore the girls from the band but I hadn't even told them. It was something that Ashley and I had to get through together."

In reply to Aimee's claims that she romped with Ashley before and after "he vomited on the floor, all over the cream carpet", Cheryl hits back, "That's utter rubbish, I know that for a fact. I know Ashley intimately. When he's under the influence he isn't capable.


"When I heard what this girl had said I realised she'd made part of the story up. And, to be honest, that has helped me get through this.

"Obviously I felt sick to the stomach. What woman and wife wouldn't? And to be honest I felt humiliated and crushed that this girl was saying these things and people were believing it.

Describing Ashley's confession as "the worst night of my life", Cheryl admitted the couple's relationship has been strained, but insists "we love each other".

Cheryl continued, "It's fair to say we constantly rowed over the next few days."

"I know it must be hard being a single mum but that's no excuse to exploit Ashley and potentially ruin our marriage.
"I feel like I'm living in a nightmare and I don't know if people will allow me or Ashley to forget it.

"I don't want anybody to be angry with Ashley or to judge him—that's my job as his wife."

Ashley and Cheryl have been married for 18 months.

New Kids On The Block To Reform

A source has told People that New Kids On The Block are getting back together.

The band's Web site, nkotb.com, is now back up and running in anticipation of the official announcement, which the source says will be made in the next few weeks.

The boy band, which was a big success in the early '90s, sold more than 50 million albums worldwide decided to split in 1994.

Now, Jonathan Knight, is a real estate developer and will turn 40 later this year. Knight's brother, Jordan, 37, has continued to record. Since the band's demise, former members Donnie Wahlberg, 38, and Joey McIntyre, 35, have seen acting success, while Danny Wood, 38, has worked as a music producer and also appaered on MTVs Totally Boyband.

Cowell Threatens X Factor Judges With The Sack

Simon Cowell has threatened to sack X Factor judges Sharon Osbourne and Dannii Minogue if they do not learn to get along.

Sharon and Dannii's feud was the topic on everyone's lips during last year's (boring) series. The pair denied any rumours of a conflict despite reports of backstage bust-ups.

However, the pair's rivalry became public when Dannii complained that Sharon and Louis Walsh were trying to bully her. Sharon was then criticisied by Simon after she mocked Danni and claimed that the Aussie star was only hired for her looks.

A source told The Sun, "It's nearly contract time again. Sharon said she doesn't want to come back with Dannii - and Dannii said she doesn't want to work with Sharon."

"But Simon has banged both their heads together and told them, 'If you don't shut up - I can replace you both'. They don't have to be best friends - but they do have to work together."

The insider added, "Bosses know that viewers were hooked on the backstage battles between Sharon and Dannii and they want to keep them both on board - it makes for very interesting TV."

Louis Walsh was axed before last year's series and replaced by Brian Friedman. However Friedman later found another position on the show and Walsh returned to The X Factor.

Boss Convinced Amy To Go To Rehab

They tried to make her go to rehab, she said no, no...yes!

Amy Winehouse checked into rehab on Thursday after a video clip which showed her taking crack cocaine and saying she took "six valium" was released by The Sun.

A statement from her record label Universal Music said,"Amy entered the facility by mutual agreement and continues to receive the full support of all concerned."

Apparently Universal Music chief Lucian Grange convinced the troubled singer to check into rehab by showing the troubled singer a selection of press reports.

A source told The Sun, "Lucian got his international marketing manager to find and copy every piece of press from around the world. It took the guy two days."

"Lucian then laid everything out in his huge office and summoned Amy. He told her to have a good look, then tell him she hasn't got a problem with drugs. It did the trick."

Dales Star Returns For Gay Wedding

Former Emmerdale actress Kate McGregor is to make a special reappearance for the soap's first gay wedding.

Her character Emily Kirk will return at the beginning of March for the nuptials between Paul Lambert and Jonny Foster – played by Matthew Bose and Richard Grieve respectively.

McGregor – who played shopkeeper Emily for eight years between 1999 and 2007 – quit the soap last year in order to pursue other projects. In the soap, her character left the village in December to train as a priest.

She returns to the Yorkshire set next week, with her reappearance airing on March 3.

Speaking of Kate's comeback, Bose told Digital Spy, "Paul and Jonny couldn't have got married without Emily being a witness. It just had to happen. We're really excited about having Kate back on set. It'll be like old times. We'll have to try and tie her down this time so she can't leave again!"

A source added, "The wedding's going to be fantastic – and there'll definitely be plenty of surprises along the way!"

Cloverfield is about a gigantic monster that attacks New York city. The film is shown from the camera of a group of youngsters who are watching the events unfold.

In the US Cloverfield made $41million on its opening weekend, making it the most successful January release gross of all time. The film has barely been released and there is already buzz of a sequel.

I for one cannot wait to this film which is produced by J.J Abrams (creator of Alias and co-creator of Lost). Also look out for Mike Vogel in the film when it is released in the UK on 1st February 2008.

Cheryl Kicks Out Cheating Ashley

Cheryl Cole has kicked out love rat husband Ashley after discovering he had cheated on her with blonde hairdresser Aimee Walton, according to reports.

According to The Sun, a source close to Cheryl claimed the she had confronted her cheating husband, shouting, "How could you humiliate me like this in front of everyone?"

The Girls Aloud singer has told friends that she is "seriously considering" ending her 18-month marriage to the Chelsea and England footballer.

Cheryl told Ashley that she wanted him to leave their home in Oxshott, Surrey, while she considers the future of their relationship.

A friend of the couple told the Daily Mirror, "The worst thing about it all was that it was totally unexpected. She is angry, but mostly stunned by his betrayal. No one can believe Ashley has done this. Everyone thought their relationship was rock solid and are as shocked as Cheryl is. It is a horrible, horrible mess."

& the night before the Oscars, the Razzie Awards will be given out to acknowledge the worst in cinema this year. Lindsay Lohan and Eddie Murphy could be big 'winners' or losers there. I really hope 'Good Luck Chuck' gets a Razzie - as it is the most pathetic film I have ever seen!

Speaking to Closer magazine she revealed, "Los Angeles is brutal! Even Cameron Diaz is old hat now. Once you do three movies, you're over."

She added, “I can see why Kate Winslet still likes to spend time in the UK - LA isn't the real world.

"It wasn't a godsend for my career but I got the chance to take stock. I grew up a lot in that year."

Artist Spotlight: Jonas Brothers

Teen pop sensations Jonas Brothers are breaking records. The Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles has not had anything like the hysteria that ensued once tickets went on sale for the trio’s highly anticipated solo tour. The show sold out in two minutes which was the quickest sellout in 36 years. Demand was so high that the venue was forced to add two more dates.

After wrapping up the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus “Best of Both Worlds Tour,” Jonas Brothers took little time to rest. They kept things in full swing signing a two-year, multi-million dollar deal with Live Nation. The “Look Me in the Eyes Tour” will be a whirlwind international tour for the Hollywood Records recording artists and will have the trio playing over 140 dates. Although only US dates have been announced so far, the tour will be landing the boys in the UK. Buzz among UK fans is already brewing, and fans will no doubt prove that Jonas mania is going global.

I must admit that these guys are really talented, just listen to When You Look Me In The Eye - great stuff!

Brangelina Expecting Twins?

Angelina Jolie is pregnant with twins, reports Star magazine.
The Tomb Raider star is said to have been given the good news this week.

Angelina, 32, was the subject of pregnancy rumours at the Critics' Choice awards earlier this month when she looked to have gained some weight.

While lover Brad Pitt, 44, drank beer and others at their table sipped champagne, Angelina reportedly drank only mineral water all night.

The arrival of twins would bring the Jolie-Pitt brood up to six children.

She already has three adopted children, Maddox, Zahara, Pax-Thien, and a biological daughter, Shiloh, with Brad.

It is also said that Angelina may have cancelled a long-scheduled trip to Europe when she found out about her pregnancy.

A source told Star magazine, "Brad and Angelina are absolutely ecstatic. But I still think there will be more adoptions to come."

The couple's publicists have not yet commented on the report, reports Daily Mail.

Kelly Osbourne Admits 'Chicago' Pics Were Airbrushed

Former wild child Kelly Osbourne showed off her new trim body in a figure hugging black basque to promote her role as Mama Morton in the hit West End show Chicago last summer.

Speaking to heat magazine she revealed: "They airbrushed my chin, because I had a little bit of a double chin and under my arm because my corset was pulled in so tight I got a fanny pit - in the picture it looked like a vagina!"

Kelly, who's hosting Project Catwalk for Sky One says her weight loss was down to her busy schedule and forgetting to eat. She told heat she'd been disappointed with the response it provoked: "I don't like the way that suddenly now everyone likes me because I've lost 2st. Why was I a bitch before? Because I was fat? Today, the media looks down more on someone who's overweight than someone who's a junkie. For f**k's sack, they glorify Pete Doherty!"

She added: "I was always the fat spoilt brat because I was fat, not because I was a spoilt brat."

Kelly still gets upset about the media's fascination with her weight. She admitted: "Even when I was bigger, I still don't consider myself to have been fat. Being a size 12 is not fat. Just because I'm a size 8-10 now doesn't mean that a size 12 was fat."

Kelly counts Amy Winehouse and Kate Moss among her closest friends. She said of Kate: "She's one of my most fun friends. I just think she's a really lovely person. The way the media portrays her couldn't be more opposite to how she really is. She's just so fun. Yes she's one of the most beautiful people in the world and a supermodel, but what comes first is she's just Kate and a mum."

Anna Friel Hires A Northern Nanny

British actress Anna Friel moved to Los Angeles two years ago with Harry Potter star David Thewlis and their two-year-old daughter Gracie, she's just signed a new six-and-a-half-year contract with hit US TV series Pushing Daisies which comes to ITV this spring.

The star, who's originally from Rochdale, has employed a nanny from the North of England so Gracie doesn't forget where she comes from.

She told Closer magazine: "I know my roots and where I'm from - I'm northern and I always will be. Now Gracie's talking with northern mannerisms. She's like: 'Eh up, Mummy doesn't like it like that, Mummy likes things neat int trailer.' She's adorable."

Anna admits she was homesick when the family first made the move but she now dreads the thought of coming back to the UK.

She adds: “I want Gracie to be settled and that means we're staying here for now - she's going to be in school soon. I need to let her have time to grow."

Complaints Over 'Enders Stabbing

Nearly 200 people complained about Jay getting stabbed on Eastenders, reports Daily Mail.

The episode which was broadcast at 7.30pm - pre watershed - led 184 complaints to the BBC and Ofcom received another seven.

Many parents were angry that children would have seen 13-year-old character Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) knifed.

BBC chiefs allowed the broadcast - knowing it would be controversial - despite watchdogs recently ordering a clampdown on soap violence.

A BBC spokesman said yesterday: "EastEnders has always tackled difficult issues and we acknowledge that some viewers could consider this storyline challenging. This is part of a long-running storyline that in no way glamorises the use of knives."

GMTV Presenter Underwood's Skaiting Injury

GMTV presenter Michael Underwood has pulled out of Dancing On Ice after breaking his ankle during training.

Underwood was practising his routine with partner Melanie Lambert last night when he fell awkwardly.

He was taken to hospital where X-rays revealed the fracture, reports Daily Mail.

The presenter said he was "devastated" to be leaving the show.

He said, "Hopefully, according to the doctor, there won't be any long-term damage."

"I would like to be be able to tell you it was something amazing, like some triple axle that I tried to do and failed - but all I was doing was trying to stop!"

The GMTV presenter will be in the audience cheering on the other contestants in Sunday night's live show.

"It's going to be hard but I want to be there to support them," added Underwood.

That Antony Cotton Show Axed

ITV's That Antony Cotton Show has been axed and replaced by quiz shows, say reports.

Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in Coronation Street, is unhappy to lose the show, because he was looking forward to making some alterations to the programme's format in the second series, claims The Sun.

"Antony was hoping to do another series with the show slightly tweaked," said a source. "But ITV don’t want that now."

"He’s still going to do other things aside from Corrie - there’s a quiz show idea on the table."

Lil Wayne Arrested: Mugshot!

Lil' Wayne has been busted on drugs charges (again), reports TMZ.

The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr, was arrested near Yuma, Arizona last night on three felony counts: possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wayne was arrested in Idaho last year for possession of drugs.

Ledger Autopsy Results: Inconclusive

Hollywood star Heath Ledger was dound dead at his SoHo apartment by his his maid and masseuse. The Australian actor was 28.

A spokesperson for the NYPD said, "Pills were found in the vicinity of the bed. This is being looked at as a possible overdose," reports Digital Spy.

But multiple sources in the NYPD tell TMZ, it's likely that Heath Ledger's death was accidental and not suicide.

Heath's father Kim released a statement in which he said, the death of his son was "untimely and accidental." He added that Heath "was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving and selfless individual."

An autopsy on Heath Ledger was inconclusive.

It's unclear if Ledger's health was a factor. He had pneumonia at the time of his death.

Konnie Huq Leaves Blue Peter

Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq has made her last apperance on the popular show after 10 years.

The 32-year-old is the shows longest serving female presenter.

She received tribute messages from past presenters and celebrities including Matt Lucas the Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Heath Ledger Found Dead

TMZ exclusively reports that that Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in NY.

He was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime.

MSNBC reports that the actor was found, surrounded by pills.

The 28-year-old actor has a two year old daughter with former fiancee Michelle Williams. He was set to play the Joker in the upcoming Batman film "The Dark Knight."

Dita von Teese Wonderbra

'The Queen of Burlesque' Dita von Teese has signed a deal with Wonderbra.

As well as modelling the goods, she is also designing her own limited edition collection of Wonderbra underwear.

Her designs will draw on 1940s lingerie styles and vintage underwear fashion – a style that von Teese has made her own, reports Daily Mail.

Illnnes Forces Break For Emmerdale Star

Emmerdale actor Clive Hornby has been forced to take a break from the soap due to ill health.

According to The Mirror, the 63-year-old is fighting an unnamed illness.

However bosses have denied rumours that Clive will be leaving the show.

A show spokesman said, "We can confirm that Clive is unwell but fully intends to return to work."

Hornby has filmed episodes to be broadcast up to mid-February.

Hornby is Emmerdale's longest-serving cast member and has played farmer Jack Sugden for about 30 years.

Sutherland Leaves Jail

'24' star Kiefer Sutherland has left jail in California after serving a 48-day sentence for drink driving.

A police officer said the actor had spent his sentence cleaning bed sheets on laundry duty and had been "very humble".

Sutherland was arrested and found to be over the legal alcohol limit after leaving a party last year. He was still on probation for a previous offence.

The 41-year-old was sentenced after pleading no contest - or guilty.

He was fined $510 (£250), given five years probation and was ordered to take alcohol education and counselling programmes, reports BBC.
