Cox Defends Britney Spoof On Dirt

Courteney Cox has defended her plan to use Britney Spears' recent troubles as the inspiration for a storyline in her hit show Dirt.

The actress intends to spoof Spears' problems in the FX drama, in which she plays the editor of a celebrity magazine.

The singer's high-profile divorce and custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline will provide inspiration for material in the second series, as well as her infamous hair-shaving incident.

A source said earlier this month: "Courteney can’t wait to give the Britney character a major smack-down on camera."

However, Cox denied that she intended to criticise Spears, saying: "This is not an attack on Britney. I am not out to offend anyone."

More Nicole Kidman Pregnancy Rumours: Is She, Isn't She?

The Daily Mail reported that Nicole Kidman was pregnant. Is said, "Nicole Kidman and her husband of 18 months (Keith Urban) are expecting their first baby."

However Nicole's rep told news.com.au, "She's in Australia making a film and her family are in Australia. She's happily ensconced away somewhere having a few days break. It's the silly season. As far as we're concerned, it's another rumour out of London."

No Maternity Range From Lily Allen

Lily Allen has refused to release her own range of maternity clothes.

The 22-year-old singer has received a number of offers from companies since she announced that she is expecting a baby with her Chemical Brothers boyfriend Ed Simons earlier this month.

However, Lily decided to turn down the lucrative deals because she did not want to send out the wrong message to her fans.

"I've had a lot of offers from people to do my own maternity range but I don't think it is the right message to send to young Britain," Lily explained. "I'm not the best example. I'm pregnant and a bit young, aren't I?

"My demographic is generally young girls, so I don't think a maternity line is suitable. It isn't the best impression to give them."

OC Star Mischa Barton DUI Mugshot

Earlier this week former OC actress, Mischa Barton was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and drugs possession in Los Angeles and spent the night in a police cell.

The 21-year-old was arrested and handcuffed after she was pulled over while driving her white Range Rover in West Hollywood during the early hours of Thursday morning.

The LA County Sheriff's Department revealed she was seen "straddling two lanes of traffic and failed to signal when making a turn".

Police say officers "determined that she was an unlicenced driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage".

Mischa was held in police custody for seven hours on $10,000 (£5,000) bail, until she was finally released.

Alesha Wins Strictly Come Dancing

The current series of Strictly Come Dancing has come to an end and singer Alesha Dixon has been crowned the winner with Eastenders actor Matt Di Angelo finishing second. Well done to all the celebs (and professional dancers) for putting on a fab show.

The finalists danced five dances in the final of the competition - which has lasted about three months.

Matt was very good, but former MisTeeq babe Alesha deserved to win. She is being called "Britain's answer to Beyonce," and this win could well help her on her way.

Harvey Talks Alesha, Javine & Family

Harvey split up with his wife Alesha Dixon when he slept with another woman - Javine. Now Javine and Harvey are expecting a child while Alesha has made it onto the final of Strictly Come Dancing (btw she should win!).

Now Harvey has spoken to the Daily Mail about Alesha, Javine and the end of his marriage.

It was rumoured that Harvey and Javine were caught in bed ny Javine's boyfriend Karl 'KG' Gordon, who immediately phoned Alesha. But Harvey says, "Javine and Alesha were never friends and I never got caught in bed by Javine's boyfriend."

"It's utter bulls**t. That's the thing that's got to me, all these lies. Javine's ex decided to make a quick buck and he never loved her because you don't make money against your girlfriend," added Harvey.

Destiny's Child To Reform?

Destiny's Child have discussed reforming the band after a number of reunions inspired them.

Singer Kelly Rowland revealed that a reformation could be on the cards and that she would like to start performing with Beyoncé Knowles and Michelle Williams again.

Rowland, who left the group when they split up in 2005, said: "This current spate of reunions has given us ideas. Despite what people say we are all still really close.

"A couple of weeks ago Beyoncé did a show in Los Angeles and asked me and Michelle to join her on stage to sing 'Survivor'. The emotion was incredible and it felt so good to be back up there with the girls again.

"It was a real tear-jerker. The fans were crying and going nuts. It was magical. I'd definitely like us to do more stuff like that."

Leon Jackson Wins X Factor

For those of you who are still watching it this year; Leon Jackson has won the X Factor and a £1 million recording contract.

The 18-year-old Scotsman beat Rhydian Roberts after brother-and sister duo Same Difference were the first finalists to be eliminated.

Mary J Glad She Never Took 'Umbrella'

Mary J. Blige has insisted that she is glad to have missed out on the chance to record 'Umbrella'.

The singer revealed last month that Rihanna's hit track was initially offered to her. She has now claimed that the song was too "mainstream" for her.

"I'm not going to chase what [mainstream] fans like," Blige told WENN. "It might work for a Mariah. It might work for a Beyonce. But Mary J. Blige is looked at as some sort of organic thing."

Hollywood star Jessica Alba is pregnant, her spokesman revealed today. Alba's spokesman told People.com: "I can confirm that Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring, early summer."

The 26-year-old actress and her boyfriend Cash Warren are expecting a child next year.

Alba has been dating 28-year-old Warren since autumn 2004 when they met on the set of The Fantastic Four, where he was a director's assistant.

Coronation Street actress Alison King has revealed that she is hoping to hang on to her sex symbol status.

Alison, 34 - who plays Carla Connor on the ITV1 soap - admitted that she wants to carry on being a hit with male viewers.

"I'm thankful that people think I'm sexy, especially as I'm getting on a bit," Alison told the Daily Star. "But if they saw me first thing in the morning they may change their minds!"

Carla kissed her brother-in-law Liam (Rob James-Collier) earlier this year. Next week, viewers will see her struggle to cope with the news that Liam is engaged to his girlfriend Maria, played by Samia Smith.

Delta Goodrem Engaged To Brian McFadden

Singer and former Neighbours actress Delta Goodrem has agreed to marry ex-Westlife singer Brian McFadden, reports Daily Mail.

The couple formally announced their engagement after reports claimed Goodrem had rejected the singer's proposal, saying she was "too young" to settle down.

However, in a statement, the two have denied the report, confirming that they are in fact planning to get married.

The statement reads: "The couple were hoping to keep the news private however they feel it is important to now confirm the exciting news."

Brian and Delta met when recording a duet together while he was still married to drug-addict Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, with whom he has two children.

They began dating shortly after Brian's marriage to Kerry fell apart, about 4 years ago.
