Watts Angers Australians

Naomi Watts has infuriated Australia by revealing she still calls Britain home, reports The Sun.

Watts was born in Kent - in England - but moved to Sydney when she was 14 with her mother and brother in the early 1980s. Watts told a UK newspaper she still considers herself British.

The 38-year-old says, "I loved my childhood growing up in Kent. I was always climbing trees, a real tomboy.

"I never wanted to leave. I spent the first 14 years of my life in England - we moved around a lot and I ended up going to different schools, all of which I enjoyed. Even when I was in Australia I went back to England a lot. I still have my British passport."

"I consider myself British and have very happy memories of the UK."

The actresses' comments have sparked outrage in her adopted country, reveals Australian paper The Daily Telegraph, which labelled her unpatriotic.

One reader wrote: "Let's make sure we don't bother letting her back in the country if that's the way she's going to be. Good riddance Naomi!"

Watts is now based in Los Angeles with fiance Liev Schreiber, with whom she is expecting a child; due in September. She reportedly wants to marry Liev in Sydney next year - but will the King Kong beauty be welcomed?
