Katie Sugden, played by Sammy Winward, is about to be the centre of an Emmerdale lesbian love tryst, according to rumours.

Co-star Verity Rushworth - who plays Donna Windsor - told Daily Sport, "I probably shouldn't say this but there's going to be an exciting new storyline involving Katie Sugden. Let's just say Katie turns to females, to other females, to find true love."

A show insider added: "It'll be the sexiest thing we've seen in soap for a long, long time. No one's sure who Sammy's new girlfriend will be. But we're hoping she'll snog Roxanne Pallett!"
